Core Brief

Build a new venture

In 2020, I co-created LifeSketch — a design-subscription business offering unlimited design work on a monthly plan. The concept was to deliver high-quality, fast-turnaround design without the friction of traditional agency models. As Co-Founder and Lead Designer, I helped shape the value proposition, built internal workflows, and led design delivery. We positioned LifeSketch as a plug-and-play design partner for startups and growth teams — effectively functioning as an on-demand Chief Design Officer.

Go-to-market

Our GTM strategy combined cold outreach, curated lead lists, and inbound from portfolio referrals. We targeted startup founders, operators, and product managers who needed design capacity but couldn’t justify hiring full-time. The core messaging emphasized speed, flexibility, and strategic quality — “faster than an agency, cheaper than hiring in-house.” I designed and built the landing page, ran email campaigns, and held intro calls to convert trial users into monthly clients.

Product & Design

LifeSketch was both a service and a system. I developed a structured intake process using Notion, Figma, and async tools to streamline delivery. We handled a wide range of requests — from brand refreshes and websites to product UX and pitch decks. I personally led the more strategic work while managing freelancers for execution-heavy tasks. Every deliverable was built with modularity in mind to support faster iteration across client requests.

Lessons & Resources

One clear lesson was how important it is to define the “subscription scope” upfront — clients often wanted strategic guidance, not just design assets. Building solid intake and feedback systems was key to keeping quality high without bottlenecks. We learned that success depended less on volume and more on setting clear expectations and delivering consistently. LifeSketch proved there’s a real demand for productized design when paired with thoughtful operations.
